Arsenal inch closer

Lovely time at Maggie’s on Wednesday. Decent crowd for the mid-week win against United. Travelers from New Orleans and Norway celebrated with regulars. A couple of Gooners avoided having their picture taken, because they were supposed to be at work. But some things are more important.

Arsenal did the business, scoring two off set-pieces, which has rapidly become one of their strengths. Some ex-Tottenham commentator laughingly labeled us, “the new Stoke”, which is quite the turnaround from seasons past, where our corners rarely yielded results.

Meanwhile, Liverpool drew at Newcastle, which narrowed the points gap with the league leaders. Here’s hoping lowly Everton causes them additional trouble this weekend.

Arsenal head crosstown to play Fulham where former Gunners, Emile Smith Rowe and Alex Iwobi are thriving. Arsenal’s performance must remind us, Arteta was right to let them go.

An early Sunday kickoff awaits. I know it’s a big ask, but hope to see you at Maggie’s. COYG!

Best,

Mark
