What a difference a week makes. After a labored victory at Old Trafford, Arsenal bounced back to batter Leeds United, 5-0 at home.
Saturday was a match of firsts, including Viktor Gyökeres first goal in the red and white. We also witnessed the Premier League debut of wunderkind, Max Dowman, who became the second-youngest player in league history, making his debut at 15 years and 235 days old.
Ebereche Eze was introduced to the roar of the Emirates faithful and the whole affair was one big Arsenal lovefest. Mind you, it’s one thing to dominate a newly promoted side, but now the Gunners head to Anfield to take on the current champions.
They’ll do this without Bukayo Saka who suffered a hamstring injury that is expected to keep him out at least 4 weeks. Eze could find himself pressed into immediate duty as a result. Martin Ødegaard is also in doubt, after falling on his shoulder in the first half and we’re hearing that Kai Havertz’ injury may require surgery.
Another great crowd at the pub. The atmosphere at Maggie’s makes these victories that much sweeter.
Don’t miss this big match. See you at the pub! COYG!
Best, Mark
