To the Viktor…

Fresh off a resounding Champions League victory, the Gunners now face a formidable Crystal Palace side at home. Hopefully trouncing Atlético Madrid, 4-0 will provide a bit of momentum. Viktor Gyökeres nabbing two of the goals Wednesday night certainly gives hope that he’s finding his feet. He’s been working his ass off, so it’s nice to see it pay off.

Looking forward to seeing everyone on Sunday!

Back to business

When we last left our intrepid Gunners, they’d beaten West Ham 2-0, before the international break. After 7 matches, Arsenal sit top of the table. Sadly, Martin Ødegaard went off with a knee injury that looks to keep him out until late November. Arsenal are hopeful he’ll return in time for the North London Derby.

No time to dwell on this blow to our midfield as Arsenal are back in action this week. Saturday against Fulham, and Atlético Madrid on Tuesday in the Champions League. We’ll just have to trust in our newfound depth of Eze, Nwaneri and Merino.

Excited to be back at the pub Saturday and see all your bright and shiny faces!

Bursting bubbles

Midweek Champions League match against Olympiakos, done and dusted. A bit labored at times, but the Greek side are no slouches and Arsenal eventually wore them down. Full highlights here.

Last weekend’s dramatic late win against Newcastle was a joy to behold. I must have watched Big Gabi’s stoppage time goal, a dozen times or more. Tomorrow the Gunners contend with West Ham, hoping to reverse recent fortunes, having lost two successive matches at the Emirates against the Irons.

Feels like our new super-deep squad is still jelling as Arteta toys with line-ups. Despite not producing many goals yet, Arsenal’s big money striker, Viktor Gyökeres is working his socks off and contributing in other ways. I truly hope we punish the Hammers tomorrow.

Was sorry to miss the Newcastle match last week, but will see you bright and early tomorrow!
